Who We Are
Wheatman Planning was established in 1997 by Simon Wheatman, a Chartered Town Planner (member of the Royal Town Planning Institute). Our approach is grounded in extensive experience from local government planning departments, giving a unique insight into how planning authorities operate.​
​
Simon has acted as moderator and speaker at various industry conferences, contributed to local BBC radio on planning matters, and co-founded the RTPI's East of England Planning Aid Service in the late 1980s.​
​
Whilst we focus exclusively on planning advice, we've built a trusted network of specialist consultants—including archaeologists, ecologists, sustainability experts, and highway engineers—whom we engage for more complex projects.​
As we move into 2026, we have residential schemes in progress with a combined Gross Development Value of £120 million.
